Comfort Balm – Ermana Skincare

ermana comfort balm

Hello My Loves!

Sometimes a single product comes along that manages to be exactly what your skin needs and before you know it your reaching for it every morning. That is precisely what Ermana’s Skincare Comfort Balm has become for me.

Described as a rich blend of natural butters rich in vitamins and anti oxidants which hydrate, condition, soften and protect the skin.

It is a versatile product that can be used on any area’s that need a boost in hydration. I particularly love it for my lips first thing in the morning, the blend of  natural butters and essential oils really help nourish my lips which make it the perfect base for those drying matte liquid lipsticks.

My other top use for it is for prepping those drier areas such as elbows and knees before applying fake tan. Just warm little product in your fingertips and wait for the balm to melt then apply. I always use this the day before I have a spray tan and in my opinion it really helps prevent the tan sticking to those areas.

All Ermana product’s are 100% natural and free from sulphates, parabens, artificial colours and fragrances.

Treat Your Skin – Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

elemis pro collagen cleanser

Hello my loves!

Now I’m a huge Elemis fan, so far to say it’s probably is the favourite product range I’ve ever worked with in my time as a Spa and Beauty Therapist and their Pro-Collagen Cleanser is easily in my top 3 products of theirs.

I was first introduced to the product when it first launched in Spa Treatments and was hooked from the get go.

I prefer not to use it as an everyday cleanser as I do find it can be a bit too rich for my skin, but when I want a proper pamper or an at home facial it works just the treat.

I just warm into the palms and then massage over the face, neck with light circular massage movements then remove it with a warm cotton cloth. Another great thing about this cleanser is that you can also use it as a mask, just massage it over your face a you would when cleansing but leave it on for 10 minutes before gently removing. I love doing this when in the bath as it smells heavenly, perfect for winding down before bed.

Now it is part of their Pro Collagen range which contains some amazing ingredients including Padina Pavonica which is a unique Mediterranean algae with proven outstanding anti-ageing benefits.  It has been shown that it stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycan’s (GAGs), responsible for the moisturisation, firmness and elasticity of the skin. Basically they found this algae on part of a ship wreckage and noticed that it had preserved it in really good condition compared to other parts where the algae was not present. It’s thing like this that make being a beauty therapist really interesting, I love when you find out the background behind the products your using for treatments.

Have you tried this cleanser? If, not what are your go to products for giving your skin a treat?

body shop bb cream

Hello my Loves!

With the weather in Scotland being absolutely miserable recently my skin hasn’t been the happiest.

I try not to wear as much foundation in the winter months to give my skin a chance to breath so the light coverage and hydration of this bb cream has been a saviour.

I often struggle to find bb creams to suit my skin tone as most tend to be far to dark for me and I’m left looking a touch orange so I was happy to see that the body shop’s  bb cream had a light shades available.

I buff it in with a real techniques expert face brush and I think  it blends really evenly and does give you a lovely hint of colour and pretty good coverage for a bb cream. For stubborn blemishes you will need a little concealer for them. But I just loved the dewy glow it gives my skin! Not one for those who like matte skin however, but i personally love the dewy look! Plus you can always pop a little powder on top.

Do you like bb creams?

If so, which one’s would you recommend.

Budget Friendly Skincare

DSC00004

Hello my loves!

So I was originally only popping into boots to pick up a toner but whenever I see a 3 for 2 I just can’t refuse.

Now I’ve never actually tried anything from the Botanics range before and I was really struggling to find a toner, maybe it was just my boots my the selection of choices wasn’t as wide as I expected.

As it’s the summer I wanted something quite light and refreshing and this seemed a good choice.

The Botanics Rose Water Toning Spritz is 100% organic, I will say that toning is a the stage in my skincare routine that I try to use as natural ingredients as possible just cause many include alcohol based ingredients that tend to dry out my skin.

The toner is said to visibly tighten pores now while I didn’t notice this I will agree that it makes my skin feel smoother and fresher plus it has a lovely smell so you can always do a quick spritz if you need to cool down in the heat.

The next product I picked up was the Radiant Youth Super Serum, which is said to reduce the appearance of line and wrinkles  while boosting luminosity. Now I don’t have any small lines to reduce so I can’t comment on that aspect but I can say that it did give my skin a bit of a brighter glow.

The final product I picked up was the All Bright Radiance Balm as it reminded me of the Elemis Flash Balm which is my all time favorite primer. I may do a post to compare the two at a later date once I have a full months use to see how the budget friendly option holds up against the high end version.

At the moment I will say the balm does give the skin an instant pick me up looking a bit brighter and more radiant providing the perfect base if you prefer a dewy finish to you make up.

Have you tried any of the Botanics Range?

What would you recommend ?

Let me know.

Body Shop Vitamin E

Hello Everyone!

Today I thought I would mention 2 new favorites in my current skincare regime!

I’m slightly obsessed with the body shop, I think they produce good quality products for a good price range and I can never seem to go into the shop without buying something.

My two newest products are from the Vitamin E Range, now as someone who has combination/sensitive skin the consultants in the body shop are never really sure which of their range to put me in, most will point me towards the tea tree section as that’s the best for combination whereas others will direct me to the aloe/seaweed range which is aimed for us more sensitive souls, so with that in mind I tend to just browse by myself and see what I like the look or smell of.

The first product that caught my interest was the Vitamin E Overnight Serum in Oil. As someone with naturally combination skin I often tend to shy away from skin oils whether it be in moisturizer or cleansers but I was pleasantly surprised with this light weight oil. The consultant explained a few details about it to be and said it is best used in place of a moisturizer but I find it works better for me as a serum, I lightly massage it over a cleansed face and leave to soak in before applying my moisturizer on top. I was worried it would be too heavy or cause imbalance of my skin but have found it works a treat at providing a but more hydration and has helped slightly with my acne scarring. Iv’e had it over a month now and still have plenty left so unless another skin oil catches my eye this definitely be repurchased.

The other item I got was the Vitamin E Eye Cube.

I mainly use this in the morning and still use an eye cream at night as I prefer a slightly richer formula for the evenings. It is said to help reduce the signs of under eye circles and reduce puffiness. In the mornings I will pop this on a good 10 minutes before my makeup just so it has time to absorbed, I find it has a slightly cooling sensation which is a nice refreshing feeling that helps me wake up in the morning especially since I have given up coffee 🙁 It does help slightly with dark circles but I would always use concealer on top for those days when I get less than 8 hours.

Have your tried either of these products? What did you think of them?

Also any new Body Shop Products that I must try?

Adding a bit of Zing to your Skin

After a much needed few days in bed resting my poor little immune system back to health, I am back to blogging more frequently, yay! I bloomin’ hate being poorly and cannot stay in bed comfortably doing nothing for hours on end without driving myself up the wall so I am glad to be better and finally getting back into my little routine and caring for my lovely little piece of internet space again.

As well as my body feeling much healthier lately, my skin is also feeling AMAZING and it’s all thanks to a mini pot of orange goodness….
origins
I recently purchased Origins GinZing energy-boosting moisturizer after hearing such glowing reviews about it.
I’ve been using this little beauty for two weeks now and let me just tell you…IT IS AMAZING!!
It has done wonders for my skin, both in appearance and the feel of it and don’t even get me started on the smell. Orange scents are my favourite ever and this is probably the best smelling beauty product there is, I literally want to eat it (I won’t…)
At first the price did put me off a little as at £23 for 50ml it seemed a little pricey, but honestly you barely need to apply anything as the coverage is so great. After 2 weeks I think I’m still using the excess product from the lid! What’s even greater about it too is the fact that it’s a day and night time moisturizer which works perfectly for me as I’m too lazy to find myself a suitable night cream!
It is infused with caffeine as well as orange so it literally wakes your skin up and brightens it, which is just the thing for me as my porcelain skin has a tendency to look really dull!
I cannot say enough good things about this moisturizer, and I’m interested to try more products from the GinZing range! I think the eye cream will be the next on the shopping list to see if it can banish my dreaded under eye circles!
Have you any Origins product recommendations? Have you tried this moisturizer too? Let me know your thoughts 🙂
As for me now, I’m off for a steaming bubble bath and cuddles with my other half…
Goodnight lovelies!
Always, Tasha x

Warming Mineral Mask By Body Shop

mask

Hello my Lovelies!!

The body shop always has amazing deals on their skincare lines, I’m such a fan of their tea tree line for when my skin is being a bit hormonal and more on the oily side and recently when I was in store if you spent over £20 on skincare you got a choice of a free product. Out of the options available I went for the Warming Mineral Mask as I’m a sucker for clay based masks.

The mask is a light greyish in colour and really easy to apply. The directions do state for it to be applied to wet skin however I would recommend only a slight dampness as with kaolin based products too much moisture does tend to make them slide off the skin. What I enjoyed about this, is that when you apply it, it gets hot.  And I mean HOT! I was shocked about how warm this got as I applied it to my skin.  It means to open up your pores and get the clay way down deep in your skin and the hot temperature only lasts for about 5 seconds and then it feels normal.

My skin definitely felt tighter after using it, and drop dead clean. My moisturiser absorbed into my skin like nobody’s business, that is usually what happens after I use this clarifying mask. It does a nice job of drawing out impurities from my skin.

A Little Advice:

Now, this is not a product you want to overuse, because over scrubbing with it might give you breakouts. So make sure you use it only once or twice a week max. I always yearn to use it more after I see the results, but somehow I’ve managed to control my urge. :) I know that using it can be easily addictive, but you can’t go crazy with it!

Key Ingredients:

Here’s a quick description of the main ingredients, if you’re like me I always need to know what I’m actually putting on on my skin and why it’s in the product.

Kaolin Clay – helps control shine. Deeply cleanses, drawing out impurities from the skin, it is a mineral to help restore the skins natural balance.

Wild-harvested seaweed – is renowned for its conditioning and hydrating benefits, while its non oily nature makes it particularly suitable for normal to oily skin types.

Zeolite – releases heat on contact with water, providing warming sensation on skin that helps draw out impurities.

Overall, I like this mask and will definitely use it up.  I don’t know if I would repurchase because the Body Shop has so many masks that I want to try.  But it definitely lessens any oil I may have, and helps control shininess for the next day.  While I don’t always have a problem with oily skin, I like to not have to worry about shine in my t-zone.  I love that it gets as hot as it does but be warned, its hot.  It is a little drying though, so if you have really dry skin this might not be for you.  For anyone with normal, combination or oily, I would recommend this.

What masks are you loving at the moment?

September Favorites

So September really flew by, I’m still convinced it’s only August. However, I’m excited for October. We get cooler weather, pretty leaves, and I don’t feel as guilty over wanting all the pumpkin things. I will not apologize for my #WhiteGirl-ness during the fall months. Anyway, September is wonderful and I enjoyed some wonderful things. Here are my favourites from last month.

bubble gum scrub

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

With the weather getting cooler this often leads to my lip being a little on the dry side, so this has been a savior for me.  The scrub smells delicious, a mixture of strawberry bubblegum and candy floss; a scent that certainly smells good enough to eat. It makes my lips feel beautifully soft and moisturised and removes dead and dried skin, instantly improving the look and feel of my lips. I tend to use it first thing in the morning and use a balm after so it the moisturising oils have a chance to absorb before applying my lippy for the day. This is a must have for those who love a dark matte lip for the autumn season.

papaya

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel

I’m a huge Elemis fan, it definitely is one of my favourite brands to work with in the Spa and this is my go to exfoliator. Unlike traditional exfoliators instead of using beads or grains to remove dry skin, this uses natural fruit enzymes from papaya and pineapple to gently smooth and brighten the skin. This makes it perfect for me as I can be sensitive to facial scrubs.   Also the papaya scent is so lovely and fresh, nearly every client I use this on will comment on it and usually end up purchasing it after their treatment for the smell alone.

urban fruit

Urban Fruit – Strawberry

Now if you are already a fan of dried fruit, then try Urban Fruits, it is definitely one of the best I have tasted and contains no nasties, no added sugar or preservatives. If you are new to dried fruit the Mango and strawberry are a great place to start. If sweeties and fruit came together they would produce this! It really is the yummiest healthy snack for those of you with a sweet tooth and perfect to pop in my handbag to stop me from craving chocolate.

insurgent

Divergent Series by Veronica Roth

Last month I finally got around to watching the Divergent movie and I loved it so thought I should get a head start on the next film and read the books. I have just finished Insurgent and am about to start Allegiant and so far I’m really enjoying the series. I will say that for Divergent I did actually prefer the book to the movie, although Theo James definitely made it a close competition.

Since I’ve finally graduated I so glad to have the extra time to read and would love to hear some book suggestions for you guys.
